Welcome

A holy place for 1,500 years and location of so many happy, sad, historic and momentous events including the final resting place of so many friends, neighbours, family and local community.


With enormous thanks to a large number of contributors from the community and beyond, Whitekirk Church New Life Trust is pleased to confirm that this has secured the future of Whitekirk Church and placed it in a charitable trust for new generations to use and enjoy.

The church is now available for weddings and other similar events. 


Get married in a beautiful church dating back to the 15th century, in an idyllic location looking out on the beautiful fields of East Lothian. 


Also available for baptisms, naming ceremonies, and other similar occasions.

Among the events on the horizon include hosting four concerts as part of the 2025 Lammermuir Festival. 


There are 4 Whitekirk concerts:

Earth Thy Cold Is Keen 

Thursday 4 September 3pm


Hebrides Ensemble 

Thursday 11 September 3pm


Schubert String Quintet 

Saturday 13 September 7pm


Tchaikovsky String Quartets II Sunday 14 September 11am

Fortnightly Prayers

The Trust also continues to maintain close connections with the Church of Scotland. 

Fortnightly prayer service continue to be held every other Wednesday in conjunction with the Parish of Traprain. This short time of prayer is based around the Celtic Daily Prayers of the Northumbria Community 


Prayers at Whitekirk take place every fortnight from 2pm at St Mary’s, Whitekirk.  Next on Wednesday 18th June, and subsequently on a fortnightly schedule.
